History & Legacy
A conversation in 2020.
Villa Vicario began in 2020 with a conversation between Isaac Urquijo and architect Jorge Herrera about what the corner of the colorful houses deserved. Construction began in February 2022 under the guidance of INAH and the building opened in August 2024. All 27 residences were delivered between 2024 and 2025 to families from Mexico, the United States and Canada; today it is an established community and Flor del Pacífico offers three select residences.
A name with a story.
Villa Vicario takes its name from Leona Vicario, one of the defining figures of Mexico's Independence — a woman whose courage, conviction and independent spirit inspired the identity of the project.
Her legacy lives throughout Villa Vicario, beginning with its symbol: the lioness.
At the back of the lobby, above the pool, a monumental mural of Leona Vicario dominates the space. Created by Mazatlán artist Jorge Holcombe using his distinctive devastation technique, the work was conceived specifically for Villa Vicario and integrated into its architecture, turning the woman behind the name into a permanent presence inside the building.
